Prime Minister Narendra Modi has unveiled the 'Statue of Peace' on the occasion of 151st birth anniversary celebrations of Jainacharya Shree Vijay Vallabh Surishwer Ji Maharaj, on November 16, via video conferencing.
The 151-inch tall statue has been made from Ashtadhatu- 8 metals, with Copper being the major constituent, and is being installed at Vijay Vallabh Sadhana Kendra, Jetpura, in Pali, Rajasthan.
About Jainacharya Shree Vijay Vallabh Surishwer Ji Maharaj
Vijay Vallabh Surishwer Ji Maharaj also known as Acharya Vijay Vallabhsuri, led an austere life as a Jain saint, working to spread the message of Lord Mahavira. He had worked relentlessly for the welfare of masses, the spread of education, eradication of social evils and more. He wrote poetry, essays, devotional hymns and Stavans in Hindi, Gujarati and Punjabi, and also gave active support to the freedom movement and the cause of Swadeshi. He passed away in Mumbai on September 22, 1954.
