Jharkhand Sikh community seeks Government directives on the celebration of Guru Nanak Jayanti

Members of Sikh community in Jharkhand met General Secretory of the ruling party and submitted a memorandum to seeking the State Government’s directives on the forthcoming celebrations of Guru Nanak Jayanti on November 30.

According to the report, Sardar Sailender Singh, the Chairman of the Central Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee, said, “Bhattacharya gave us a patient hearing and said chief minister Hemant Soren will be apprised about the memorandum and a decision will also be taken soon.”
“Children and senior citizens will not be allowed to take part in the procession,” he said.
The 21 member delegation informed that the Sikh community takes out ‘Prabat Pheris’ for a week before Prakash Utsav and much time is not left to take a decision. The community also sought for directives on taking out Nagar Kirtans in various parts of Jamshedpur.
