On 12 March 2020, the New York Times published the report on Delhi Riot with the heading 'How Delhi's Police Turned Against Muslims'. Replying to the report, Indian Police Service (Central) Association says, "We strongly condemn the article published by the New York Times on the conduct of Police in Delhi riots. The article is a combination of biased reporting."

"Our personnel are neither Hindus nor Muslims. They are Indians, serve Indians, and during critical times they have also sacrificed their lives for Indians," says Twitter official handle of Indian Police Service (Central) Association.
 
The protest by Muslims on anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) turned violent. During the riot, two Delhi Police personnel have lost their lives, and more than 70 were injured. The substantial public property was destroyed during the uprising.
