Andhra police arrest pastor for violating Government orders

In Andhra Pradesh, police arrested the pastor at Rayavaram village in East Godavari district for violating the lockdown order amid Coronavirus pandemic, The News Minute reported.

According to media reports, the police, who conducted a raid, said that in the Church, none of the followers were wearing masks and they were also allegedly drinking communion from the same jar.
The pastor identified as Vijay Ratnam was booked under Sections 188 (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) and 270 (Malignant act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and relevant sections of the Epidemics Diseases Act and Disaster Management Act.
The prayer was held to mark the beginning of Holy Week for Christians.
