In Thrissur district of Kerala, police have arrested five Muslims who conducted mass prayer in a mosque in Kodungalloor in violation of lockdown guidelines, Kerala Kaumudi reported.
According to media reports, Police reached the mosque after getting secret information about the prayer being held in violation of lockdown guidelines.
The arrested persons were the ones who had gathered at Eriyad Eriyad Masjid AL Bilal Mosque for prayers. They were Afsal, Shamsuddhin, Muhammadali and Ali. They were later let out on bail.
Similarly, a week ago, some people had gathered at Cahavakkad Masjid and Mannuruthi Church.
So far, several incidences of violation of lockdown guidelines were reported especially by Muslims and Christians in Kerala. According to the Union Health Ministry, about 30% of Coronavirus cases in the country have been traced to Tablighi Jamaat congregation in Delhi.
