The volunteers of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) in Prayagraj will take soil and water from Sangam — the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati — for Bhoomi Pujan of Ram temple at Ayodhya on August 5.

, VHP spokesman Ashwani Mishra said, “Former VHP president late Ashok Singhal had said that the sacred water and soil from Sangam should be used in Bhoomi Pujan of the Ram temple at Ayodhya. So, our volunteers would carry Sangam soil and water to Ayodhya.” “Our senior leaders will soon decide names of members who will go to Ayodhya,” he added.
“Many seers and saints from Prayagraj played a prominent role in the Ram Mandir movement. Celebrations will be held in maths, temples in Prayagraj on the Bhumi Pujan day,” he added.
“Many saints and seers in Prayagraj had taken ‘Sankalp’ for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya and had contributed in some way. We will celebrate the day like Diwali. The Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has to keep the list of invitees short due to COVID situation,” said a seer in Prayagraj.
