Two crore Hindu devotees participate in the online Kanda Sashti Kavacham chanting Yagna

A record number of two crore devotees has participated across the world in an online recitation of Kanda Sashti, a Yagna which was organized by Art of Living Foundation.

According to the report, while talking to media, foundation members said that the religious recitation was held to heal the problems which have arisen due to current Coronavirus pandemic situation with the enthusiastic support of the community across the globe.
Led by the Foundation's head Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, the event was hosted live on various social media platforms like Facebook Live and YouTube Live, Foundation members added.
Skanda Sashti Kavasam is a Hindu devotional song composed in Tamil by Devaraya Swamigal (born c. 1820), a student of Meenakshi Sundaram Pillai, on Lord Muruga, the son of Lord Shiva, in Chennimalai near Erode. Tamil contains many ancient hymns in praise of deities. Kanda Sashti Kavasam was composed in the 19th century. The song has been composed in praise of the Lord, seeking to shower His grace.
