No social distancing observe during namaz at Delhi's Jama Masjid on Bakr Eid

On the occasion of Bakr Eid, Muslims across the world has been celebrating the day as per tradition. However, in spite of Coronavirus pandemic, social distancing was not observed in Delhi's Jama Masjid during namaz.

With lockdown restrictions eased in parts of the country, Muslims were seen visiting mosques. Though the Government has provided the guidelines on the celebration of religious festivals, no social distancing has been observed at many places while offering namaz.
Bakr-Eid is the festival of sacrifice observed on the tenth day of the Dhu al-Hijjah, which is the twelfth month of the Islamic calendar. Also known as Bakr Eid, the sacrifice feast, the festival is marked by sacrificing an animal, usually a sheep or a goat to prove their devotion and love for Allah. Post the sacrifice; devotees distribute the offering to family, friends and neighbors.
