Andhra's Endowments Minister celebrates Sankranti after facing outrage over the deterioration of temples in State

In Andhra Pradesh, Endowments Minister Velampalli Srinivas participated in the Bhogi celebrations at the Endowments camp office. He greeted the people of State on the occasion of Sankranti festival.
Andhra Pradesh Government faced strong public protest on desecration of temples in State since last few months. There have been 44 major incidents of attacks on temples during 2020-2021, 38 involving theft of idols and desecration, two cases of chariot burning and four instances of temple premises being dug up.
