Hindu community announces nationwide fast in Bangladesh

Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Ekta Parishad has announced a hunger strike from October 23 in protest against the violence in which over four Hindu devotees were killed. PM Sheikh Hasina has been asked to take strict action in the matter. In addition, a Hindu temple has been vandalized in the communal violence that has been going on for several days in Bangladesh.

On the occasion of the Navratri festival, Muslim mobs have targeted the minority Hindu community for alleged insults to the Quran. So far, more than half a dozen Hindu people have died in this violence. At the same time, many Hindu temples were also vandalized.
Rana Dasgupta, General Secretary of Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Oikya Parishad said, "The attacks on religious minorities, their temples, houses and businesses are parts of a blueprint to force them to leave the country."
Hindu temples were vandalized and looted in the clashes that took place in Dhaka. After reports of these clashes, a Muslim mob vandalized six idols at Daniyapara Maha Shoshan Kali Temple in Rashuniya Union of Sirajdikhan Upazila of Munshiganj. However, several other Hindu temples have been vandalized across the country.
