After a complaint from members of social organizations, police have arrested five Christian missionaries in Mau, Uttar Pradesh. They have been arrested under the Uttar Pradesh Unlawful Religious Conversion Act 2020.
Social activists have called the police and informed them that missionaries are converting innocent people under cover of prayer meetings. After the information, the police conducted the raid. After that, people present there started running away. However, the police seized the blessing oil, water, five copies of the holy Bible and a two-wheeler.
The police arrested five suspects - Raman Prasad alias Abraham, Chandrashekhar alias David, Hiralal, Kamlesh, Ramsukh. They all are residents of the Ranveerpur area, which is under Sarailkhansi Police Station. SHO Ram Singh said that the five arrested people was working as Christian missionaries. At present, the police are engaged in a thorough investigation of the whole matter, Live Hindustan reported.
