Around 1,500 policemen have been deployed in the Kawardha town in Chhattisgarh’s Kabirdham district after violence which was erupted after the alleged insult of the saffron flag during the protest march. The police have sealed the borders of the district.
The violence had erupted on October 3 over the removal of Saffron flags from Lohara Chowk in the Kawardha town. Section 144 of the CrPC (banning assembly of five or more people at one place) had already been imposed in the town following the clash.
“No violence was reported after Tuesday (October 5) evening. Heavy police forces have been deployed in the city. Police are scanning all the videos of violence and identifying the miscreants and the process of registering FIRs is going on,” said Police Superintendent Mohit Garg.
