Jabalpur, Dec 16: National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) found that Christian missionaries taught the Bible to orphans and converted them to Christianity. The orphanage was located in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. According to NCPCR's letter, the orphanage has been identified as Foster Care Home Navjeevan. After the investigation, officers of NCPCR filed a police complaint against the Christian organization CNI, which runs the orphanage.
The Commission had received complaints from locals alleging that the orphanage administration forcibly teaches the Bible to the orphans and does not follow the orphanage guidelines as per law. After complaints, the officials visited the orphanage and made a video of irregularities and religious materials found inside the orphanage.
Following is the copy of a letter by NCPCR to the District Collector and Police Superintendent regarding irregularities and religious conversion of innocent orphans in the orphanage.
The NCPCR has filed the complaint under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2016 and the Madhya Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act 2020.
