Kukke Subrahmanya Temple cancels ‘Ede Snana’ owing to Covid

Mangalore, December 07: For the second year in a row, the Kukke Subrahmanya temple in Dakshina Kannada district has decided to not hold 'ede snana' - a ritual of devotees rolling over the prasadam offered to the presiding deity - due to Covid-19 restrictions and detection of Omicron variant of the virus in the State.

Temple executive officer Ningaiah said that 'Ede Snana' was to be held during the Champa Shashti festival on December 7, 8 and 9. "The temple committee decided not to allow 'Ede Snana' this year too and ensure strict implementation of Covid-19 guidelines announced by the Government," he said.
