Over 30 antique idols made up of stone and ashtadhatu (eight metals), along with Rs. 65,000 and some silver items, were stolen from a Digambar Jain temple in Rajasthan.
The shocking incident took place on 1st Feb. when thieves barged into the Parshavnath Bohara Ji temple located at Ghat Ki Guni area near Transport Nagar in Jaipur. They locked the room in which the priest was sleeping and stole the precious idols.
In the police complaint, the priests have claimed that the idols were over 500 years old. The working members of the temple committee have demanded immediate arrest of the burglars and have sought protection to Jain temples in the state.
