Afghan Bamiyan buddha returns virtually after 20 years

Kabul, March 12: Twenty years after being destroyed by the Taliban, Bamiyan Buddhas were brought back to life using 3D projection in the event held in the Bamiyan Valley of Afghanistan. The event “A Night with Buddha” was held on the anniversary of annihilation. The projection filled the alcove that once housed Salsal, a 55-meter tall statue.

The statues of Bamiyan Buddha, which find the place among the tallest statues of the world once, were broken into small pieces by the Taliban. Taliban started to blow up the two of the Buddha statues of Bamiyan Valley of Afghanistan in the month of March 2001
