Lawyer announces Rs 11 lakh reward for beheading Waseem Rizvi

Waseem Rizvi’s plea in the Supreme Court for removal of the 26 verses from the Quran has triggered a massive row within the Muslims. A Muslim lawyer allegedly announced an Rs 11 lakh reward for beheading Waseem Rizvi, Former Chairman of Uttar Pradesh Shia Central Waqf Board. The Lawyer is identified as Amirul Hasan Zaidi.

An FIR has been filed against Zaidi under Section 505(2) (statements creating or promoting enmity, hatred or ill-will between classes) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.
On March 15, thousands of Muslims protested at the Bada Imambara in Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow against Rizvi. Sunni and Shia clerics led the protest against Rizvi and sought his arrest. A call for a big rally and a protest march was also announced by Maulana Syed Kalbe Jawad Naqvi and Advocate Mehmood Pracha from Jama Masjid in Delhi after Friday prayers on March 19, 2021.
