Delhi Women Commission prevents forced conversion and marriage of a minor girl

Forced conversion cases have been continued in the country. A similar case has emerged in the capital. Swati Maliwal, Chairperson of Delhi Women Commission prevented a 15-year-old girl's marriage and her conversion.

An anonymous person complained to Swati Maliwal and informed her about the minor's marriage. The girl's marriage ceremony started at 1 pm on March 18, the commission team led along with Chairperson Swati Maliwal reached Jahangirpuri. The team found that the wedding procession had arrived at the venue and the groom was waiting for the girl to arrive.
The team of the Commission along with the local police reached the girl's house and when the members of the Commission talked to the girl, the girl confessed that she is 15 years old.
On social media profile, Swati Maliwal wrote, "A 15-year-old girl was being converted and married in Jehangirpuri. Right now I & my team have stopped this marriage with SHO of the area."
