New Delhi, Mar 18: The Indian railways have planned to provide better travel options for pilgrims amidst the pandemic, for the ease of bhakts of Mata Vaishno Devi. In order to visit Shri Mata Vaishno Devi in Katra, the Indian Railways has decided to start two special trains for Katra. These two special trains to Katra will be operating from Mar 21 and the trains include one train each from New Delhi and Varanasi.
Besides, the Indian railway has also decided to start the Humsafar Super-Fast Express train traveling from Jammu to Tirupati, from Apr 6. As the interstate bus service has been closed in most of the northern states due to the COVID 19 restrictions as well as the ongoing farmers' protests, trains have become the only option available for tourists and pilgrims to continue with their inter-state journeys. Since the number of passengers travelling to Katra for Vaishno Devi is increasing, in order to conduct safer journeys following all COVID 19 restrictions, Indian Railways has decided to start two special trains to Katra.
