CM Soren asks to withdraw Pathalgadi movement cases on protesters including Christian missionaries

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has asked the officials to withdraw all cases registered during the Pathalgadi movement. CM Soren has cleared a proposal to withdraw criminal cases related to the movement. The Jharkhand Police had registered cases against protesters including some Christian missionaries and the churches for their alleged role in the instigation of the Pathalgadi movement.
CM Soren asks to withdraw 
The Pathalgadi movement was started in 2016. The protesters had demanded that no project or program of the Government can be implemented without the consent of the village council. Some protesters were sent to jail for their involvement in the violence.
The Pathalgadi movement was initiated to oppose the Chotanagpur Tenancy Act 1908 (Amendment) Ordinance and Santhal Pargana Tenancy Act 1949 (Amendment) Ordinance which were introduced in May 2016.
