India is experiencing its second wave of Covid-19 pandemic. In this situation, several temples are coming forward for the treatment of Covid-19 patients. Shree Jagannath Temple Administration has decided to convert Nilachal Bhakta Nivas of the Grand Road in Puri, Odisha, into a Covid Care Centre, ommcomnews.com reported.
The temple administration has planned to make 120 beds ready for Covid-19 patients. The centre will also act as a dedicated for servitors and officials associated with the temple infected with the Covid-19.
On the appeal of the Odisha Chief Minister, Shree Jagannath Temple donated Rs 1.51 crore towards the Chief Minister Relief Fund to aid the Government in this fight. A letter by the temple registration read, “As per the decision of the Managing Committee of Shree Jagannath Temple, Puri, an amount of Rs.1,51.00.000/- (One crore fifty-one lakh) is contributed towards Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for COVID-19 from Temple Administration.”
