A Muslim woman embraced the Hindu religion and married a Hindu man in Khambhat city in Gujarat. However, after her marriage, she requested police protection for both. She said that she requested police protection as her family members are threatening to kill her and her husband.

Farmeen Banu has written in her application to the police that she and Pradeep Purani were in love with each other. Both had decided to get married long back. Being an adult, they married in the court. "The decision to marry Pradeep is mine and I am very happy. But my family members are very angry with this and can attack us," she wrote.
Farmeen has also mentioned in the application that she had left her house on June 17 to marry Pradeep on June 19. She has even left her clothes & other things in the house. "I have left home with an empty hand. I am mentioning this so that no allegations can be made against me," she stated in her application.
Farmeen had also made a video after her marriage, in which she is seen pleading for the safety of both (Farmeen and Pradeep). Farmeen shared this 30-second video on social media, which also went viral, Dainik Bhaskar reported.
