The Mahakaleshwar temple at Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh reopened for devotees on June 28 after a gap of 80 days. The temple was closed to the public on April 9 following a rise in daily COVID-19 cases in Madhya Pradesh. It had to be closed for the second time during the Coronavirus pandemic that broke out in early 2020.
Entry to the temple's sanctum sanctorum and ‘Nandi Hall’ will not be allowed, the assistant administrator RK Tiwari told news agency. The entry of devotees in the Bhasmarti and Shayan Aarti will be restricted until further orders. Devotees need to take online permission for the deity's darshan. Or, they can avail special darshan arrangement by paying a fee of Rs 250.
