Pune Police registered a case against 22 suspects and arrested five Muslim youths who attempted to kill Hindu hawkers who were shouting before masjid while selling vegetables. The brutal attack took place near Madina Masjid that is located in the wholesale marketplace named Ravivar Peth in Pune city. Police took action after Aniruddha Samadhan Inamdar (age 20, resident of Katchi Aali, Raviwar Peth) lodged a complaint at Faraskhana Police Station.

After the complaint, police arrested Wajid Bashir Shaikh (35, resident of Nana Peth), Shabbir Iqwala Tinwala (30), Tabrez Ibrahim Shaikh (resident of Raviwar Peth), Allauddin Imamuddin Shaikh and Ismail Shabbir Punawala.
According to the police, the victims were selling vegetables in front of the Medina Mosque in Raviwar Peth. At that time, a mob gathered and beat Inamdar, his brother, friend Dewang and Sachin. Accused Bashir Sheikh brought iron chains, steel plates, tweezers and other items from his shop and beat Inamdar and others.
Another accused Allauddin Sheikh threatened to kill Dewang and stabbed him in the stomach. Dewang was then beaten by a woman present there. Faraskhana Police are investigating the matter, Maharashtra Times reported.
