After the death of an employer, his wife was forcefully converted to Islam by his driver in Uttar Pradesh. The wife of the deceased employer registered a case under UP's anti-conversion law against their Muslim driver after he attempted to circumcise her children. The incident took place in Nautanwa town in Maharajganj district.
The victim alleged that the Muslim driver took her to his sister's place and confined her by deception. There he forcefully married her after converting her to Islam in a local mosque. After the conversion, the accused attempted to circumcise her children from her first husband who died three years ago. When the victim opposed circumcision, the accused exploited her severely. She then escaped and approached the Nautanwa Police Station and registered a case against the accused. After filing a case, she reconverted to the Hindu religion as per Vedic ritual after her own will, Aaj Tak reported.
Based on the woman's complaint, the police registered a case under IPC sections 376, 323, 504, 506, 406 and The Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Religious Conversion Ordinance, 2020.
