In the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic, Maharashtra Government has restricted the idol size to four feet in public places and two feet in residences. The decision has been taken ahead of the Ganesh Festival. According to the State Home Department, the Ganapati mandals or associations should seek local administration permission for the festival arrangements.
Additionally, the State Home Department also said that Ganapati mandals could carry health-related activities such as blood donation camps rather than holding cultural programmes during the festival. They should also hold awareness programmes for diseases such as Corona, Malaria and Dengue.
Following is the list of the guidelines provided by Maharashtra Government for the celebration of Ganesh Festival 2021-
