A report published by Dr Rahul Kumar on Dainik Jagaran claimed that nearly ten thousand innocent people were converted to Christianity by Christian missionaries in Banka District, Bihar. The district is one of the most backward districts in Bihar.

The report further claimed that churches in Chandan, Katoria and Bounsi in the Banka district have been involved in conversion. Religious meetings have been organized by Church people every Sunday to spread Christian beliefs. Missionaries told innocent and poor people that Jesus is the real God. When these people left their indigenous faith, Christian missionaries gave them buckets and other things free of cost. They also provided a hand pump (missionaries call it Jesus Well) to newly converted people.
According to the earlier report, which was published in July 2021 by Dainik Bhaskar, in the last two years in Gaya, there have been conversions in about half a dozen villages. The report further claimed that the people who were accused of converting were once Hindus.
