A tribal organization in Jharkhand has decided to oppose those Panchayat Election candidates who have left their original faith. The members of Janajati Suraksha Manch have announced that they will not permit the converted candidates to participate in the elections.

The head of the organization said that the posts like village head, Zilla Parishad etc., are reserved only for the Scheduled Tribes people. They will support those candidates who will perform and promote their original customs and traditions. He said that those who have left their culture and traditions and converted to other religions would not be allowed to participate in the Panchayat Election, Dainik Bhaskar reported.
