Officials demolish Chubcha Sahib Gurdwara in Pakistan

Pakistani authorities demolished Chubcha Sahib Gurdwara, located in Lahore. Officials cited that the action was taken for the safety of civilians. Local Sikh people alleged that instead of reviving the gurdwara, the authorities demolished it.
Gurdwara Demolition
Sikh devotees had written to the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) several times about the renovation of the gurdwara, but the board refused. As a result, the gurdwara building deteriorated day by day.
Minority communities are under threat in Pakistan. So far, several religious places of Sikh and Hindu people have been desecrated by Muslim fundamentalists. Pakistan's Government failed to protect and maintain religious places belonging to minority communities in the country.
