Nearly 125 suspects booked for shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’ in Dr Ambedkar Jayanti procession

Maharashtra Police booked nearly 125 Muslims and arrested two Muslim youths who gave slogans 'Allahu Akbar' (Allah is great) 'Islam Zindabad' in the procession carried out on the occasion of Dr Ambedkar Jayanti in Sangamner city in Maharashtra.

As per the report of Dainik Nayak, when the procession reached the premises of Shrikrushna Mandir, suddenly one hundred to seven hundred Muslim youths from the surrounding area joined the procession carrying green and red moon line flags in their hands. Initially, no one objected to these young men, so they started shouting 'Allah Hu Akbar, Islam Zindabad'.
Despite being fully aware that the procession belonged to the Dalit community, the Muslim youths entered unknowingly and hurt the sentiments of Dalit people. It has also been reported that the youths touched some Dalit women inappropriately.
After the information, Deputy Superintendent of Police Rahul Madane and Inspector of Police Mukund Deshmukh rushed to the spot with the police force. After the complaint, which was lodged by Kishore Chavan, the city police booked Feroze Gulab Bagwan (Mominpura), Ahmed Kamar Chaudhary, Aman Samin Bagwan, Hujeb Iqbal Bagwan, Sohail Iqbal Bagwan, Alla Aziz Khan and Hamza Sheikh, Arbaaz Shaikh, Abdul Samad Qureshi, Daniel Shaikh, Afan Shaikh, Umaid Qazi, Faizan (Gaffar's son), Maruf Aslam Bagwan and hundreds more suspects under the various charges Indian Penal Code and the Prevention of Atrocities against Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Act.
