Christian forum opposes Azan on loudspeaker, says it is not an inherent to Islamic practices

After the Hindu community, the Christian community has also started opposing the playing of Azan on loudspeakers. Joseph Dias, the founder of the Christian Secular Forum (CSF), has said that the use of loudspeakers was a recent phenomenon and not inherent to Islamic practices.

While talking to UCA News, Joseph said, “There is no communal or political angle to the daily use of loudspeakers for Azan since all sections are affected by the noise pollution.”
On April 2, 2022, Raj Thackeray, leader of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), a political party in Maharashtra, warned against the use of loudspeakers atop mosques. He also said that the party workers would play Hanuman Chalisa, a devotional hymn in praise of the Hindu god Hanuman, on the loudspeaker as a protest against the playing of Azan on the loudspeaker.
However, the Karnataka High Court has already given an order against the use of loudspeakers not just in mosques but in all religious places.
