A bishop of the Church of South India was stopped by Enforcement Directorate (ED) at the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport when he was scheduled to take a flight to England. ED issued a notice to Church of South India (CSI) Bishop, A Dharmaraj Rasalam, to appear before it in connection with the investigation into corruption allegations at the church's Karakonam medical college.
ED raided institutions associated with the CSI over a Karakonam medical college case. The raid was related to an allegation of collecting huge amounts of money from students in exchange for promises of a medical seat at the church-run Dr Somervell Memorial CSI Medical College in Karakonam.
