A young man committed suicide in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. His family alleged that his wife and in-laws have pressured him to convert to Islam. Police registered an FIR and initiated the investigation.
According to the
report, victim Dushyant Chaudhary, 25, living in Chitrakoot Colony, Meerut, used to work as a DJ. He was in love with a Muslim girl and they got married in the year 2020 without the permission of the family members. The family members of both were not happy with their decision. As a result, the couple started living in a separate house. Dushyant was at his parent's house on the night of the incident. On the next day in the morning, his family members found him hanging in his room.
After the incident, Dushyant's cousin Johnny Chowdhary lodged a complaint with the police and alleged that he was pressured to convert to Islam by his wife and her parents. Accordingly, the police arrested Farah, the wife of the deceased and registered a case against father Hanif Qureshi and brother Amjad.
Dainik Jagran reported that Dushyant and Farah were not talking for five days before the suicide. When Dushyant committed suicide, his friend Harish called Farah and informed her about the incident. Then Farha said, Faiz cannot do this. Actually, Farha used to call him Faiz instead of Dushyant. In the conversation, Farah said that there had been no conversation between them for five days before Dushyant's suicide.
