Muslim man hides his religious identity and traps a girl in love to convert her to Islam in Jharkhand

Jharkhand police arrested Shabbir Ansari, who allegedly blackmailed a minor Hindu girl and pressurised her to convert to Islam. He trapped her into the relationship by hiding his religious identity. After arrest, the accused was sent to judicial custody. The incident took place in Jamshedpur.
On February 26, 2023, The Avenue Mail reported that the police sources said that the arrest was made following an FIR lodged by the victim. The accused allegedly introduced himself to the victim as Sameer Kumar. After several days of friendship, he proposed to marry her and started putting pressure on her to convert to Islam.
At that time victim came to know that Sameer was actually Shabbir Ansari. The victim then refused to convert to Islam. Thereafter, the accused started blackmailing her. The accused told her that he would post her private videos on social media if she refused to convert. Finally, fed up with the torture, the victim registered a complaint with the Kadma police, Aaj Tak reported.
