On March 10, 2023,
Kerala Kaumudi reported that Siddique had sexually abused a minor boy several times at a madrassa in Pannithadam since January 2019. The court observed that teachers who are supposed to behave like parents are sending a wrong message to society through such acts.
A similar case also surfaced on February 8, 2023, in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. After health deterioration, the twelve-year-old madrassa student
revealed to the parents about sexual exploitation by the maulana in the madrassa for many days. The police registered the case under POCSO Act. However, police found that maulana was absconding from the madrassa after the complaint.
Not only sexually abused but also cases of child molestation in madrassas surfaced across India. On March 5, 2023, a minor Muslim student was severely
beaten by a madrassa teacher in a private madrassa in Thane,
Maharashtra. The teacher molested the fourteen-year student after he failed to recite
Islamic texts.
