After a complaint was filed by schoolgirls studying in a Church-run school, the police booked and arrested the principal. However, other accused, a church priest and a nun, have been absconding since the complaint. The school is located in Dindori, Madhya Pradesh.
Eight school girls studying in a school run by the Roman
Catholic community in Junwani village in Dindori had accused many people, including the school principal and guest teacher, of molestation and obscenity. The school is run by the
Jabalpur Diocesan Education Society (JDES). Taking cognizance of the matter, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has expressed his displeasure after looking at the inappropriate and delayed investigation. CM Shivraj Singh
transferred the Superintendent of Police and directed the newly appointed official to take necessary actions at the earliest. At the same time, another police officer was suspended on charges of negligence on duty.
Meanwhile, Priyank Kanoongo, Chairman of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (
NCPCR), has made several big revelations about the said Roman Catholic institution during his investigation. He claimed that evidence of
baptism and conversion has also been found in the said institution.
